Anyone done a park run? Do you have to run the full 5k or could I use the c25k?
I would love to start doing some park runs but I would obviously be slow and would be walking and running rather. Does anyone know if this is allowed?
Thanks

Parkrun is for everyone. Run, run/walk, walk.
At this point in your journey it might be an idea to go and watch first. Maybe walk the course.
I only say this as there have been people on the forum attempt PR too soon and found it very off putting, just expecting a little too much of yourself too soon.
Ultimately of course it is your choice.
I might leave it for now than and make it my aim when I have completed the C25k.
As you progress you can see what ground you are covering. Then go on line at your local parkrun and look at the times of finishers. Remember finishing at the back is no problem i do it all the time!
You can register and print off your barcode as soon as you like . Its a lifetime event, just do it once, run parkrun anywhere in the world with that barcode.
Enjoy your journey!
Yes, it's allowed, you can do it how you like, just try and keep moving briskly, slow run or walk, don't worry about times or having to keep up with other runners, but you can stop anytime if it's gets too much, but try and complete the run to get your run credit.
I started doing PR on w6, and did c25k on it and graduated on it, it was a great feeling..great experience..
Take the great advice from Millsie-J ! x
We have people that walk the entire route, and many folks, myself included, enjoy walk breaks. So you can join whenever. It all comes down to your personality - know thyself.
For example, I recently redid the program because I was off running from injury. I didn't start Parkrun back up right away because I knew I'd get too excited and run too much of the way. So I held off until week 5 or so, so that I had the stamina to match my ambition.
Another example is that I took a friend that tends towards being more competitive, and a little more self concious than me. We ran together. At the end I was so jazzed, high-fiving the volunteers and so happy that I was able to complete the route again. In contrast, my companion was upset that we came third last, even though it was her first 5k ever.
It's great fun and I hope you enjoy it.
