Hi,

I have done week 1 but didn't use the podcasts. Can I check I did the right amount of repetitions?! I did 5 mins of walking then 6 lots of 1 min walking and 6 lots of 1.5 min running (alternated), this totalled 20 mins but included the 5 min brisk walk - was this right?!! Thanks.

Well done for starting - you actually did more than the programme asks for the first run!. The individual weeks / runs are here: nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...

Have fun.

Doesn't sound like it. Warm up for 5mins brisk walking, then 8x alternating1min running and 1.30 walking with a final 5 min warm down walk. As per the link in pollyp1 post.

The 'official' NHS C25K program is illustrated in this google document:

If you read this guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it gives lots of advice and also a link to a spreadsheet view of the workouts.

Enjoy your journey.

oh no, I thought I had done well doing what I did - turns out I didn't do enough! - I thought the 5 mins walk was part of the 20 mins total, so only did 6 reps instead of 8 :(

Today could be interesting as need to start doing 2 extra reps and longer runs :)

You did do well - you made a start! I did exactly the same as you - thought I knew what I was doing for three days before I actually checked it out. Found out I shouldn't be running every day as a newbie. We all start somewhere. Don't beat yourself up - you've got the info now, go for it!

Well done for starting! I strongly recommend the podcasts though. First time I tried doing the C25K I did it without. Looking at my watch all the time drove me nuts!
