Achilles tendon

Today I was supposed to run, and was looking forward to, W1R3. But after Wednesday's run, my achilles tendon has been really painful, especially yesterday. It's a lot better today but I decided to postpone today's run until tomorrow. Better to rest any extra day than aggravate the tendon. Hopefully, I'll get back on track tomorrow.

Sadly, l know a bit about those things.

Are you sure it's the Achilles? The symptoms could be misleading. If not then you'd need a sports physio to look it up. Sometimes simple exercises given by a therapist would help but sometimes you'd need to be very careful as those things could turn problematic.

Anyway, avoid running if you feel that familiar strain, unless your physio ok-ed it, as mine did, and l was alright.

Best of luck!

Thanks for your comments. It's definitely the achilles as I've had it in the past. I'll take it easy tomorrow and if the pain recurs I'll book the physio.

How frustrating for you. Yes, much better to have an extra day’s rest than risk aggravating it further. Hope it improves.

Hey Antonioa. I have the same prob and decided to rest today and ice it. Were you able to get back into running after missing just the 1 run? I really don't want to stop but putting any weight on it is actually really uncomfortable. Very disappointing.

Hi

Sadly, I carried on running after a short break and it got worse. I wasn't able to walk for a week. That was four months ago and I'm just starting back with very light and short runs.

I'm not saying you'll be the same, but my mistake was carrying on running without enough rest after it started hurting.

Bad achilles heels injuries take forever to heal :(
