First run in a week

So after pain last Friday I have rested for a week and attempted a treadmill run this morning... and I now feel so downhearted... no pain (thankfully) but literally every step felt like a mile and I was taken back to my couch to 5k runs... I ran 8km no problem the other week for crying out loud... I barely managed 4km this morning and I literally got no pleasure out of it and running usually makes me happy... literally want to curl up and not move now 😳🙁

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how runs are going to go. I did two 30 minutes quite happily, then did a fill in 20 minute run mid week (didn't want to do my graduation run till today, for various reasons) and barely managed it. Could be physical, could be psychological for you, could be both, probably partly having to run on the dratted dreadmill. Take heart, the next run will ten to one be fine. Huge hugs xxx

Is t that always the way though. Most runs go ok, done you cruise and could carry on and other ones you run like a donkey. Don’t give up you’ll be back on form really quickly. X

Oh don’t be downhearted. We all have off days! Some runs are rubbish. just accept it and move on. With running there’s always that next run. Jam tomorrow!

At least you went out there and moved that body! Keeping moving is all 😃

Do you normally run on the treadmill? I normally run outside but have had to use my treadmill a bit over the last month because of extreme weather. I find those runs ALOT harder with every km being a chore. It is totally a mental thing for me. I love to run outside to my music, with the distraction of my surroundings. I find the more I have to do treadmill runs, they are improving but still not my run of choice. Don't be disheartened. It's one bad run after a forced week off. The next one will hopefully be better.

I do one a week due to childcare (my gym has an onsite crèche so kids are looked after)... I have never known a run like it... I hope you are right and getting back on the streets Sunday reignites my mojo x
