But you are not on your own.. and, as a mere youngster.. what is stopping you ?
Download the programme.. check out this post and begin
71 year old here. Somebody joined yesterday who is 70. Lots of young striplings in their sixties. My 61 year old close friend is contemplating doing it. You can do it
I'll be 57 years young in a few weeks. Age is just a number 😊
You are certainly not too old.
I am 58, started 3ish months ago and am loving it.
... And there is no need do this alone - this forum is full of friendly encouraging people & wise advice. Let us know how you get on and we will cheer for you! 😀
The 83 year old lady who graduated a month or so ago would say no, you are not too old.
I was 57 when I started C25K 4½ years ago and it was one of the most positive things I have ever done for my physical and mental health.
Read the guide healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and do it.
You won't regret it and could transform your life.
No you are not too old, first run yesterday and 65 this year. Take it at your own pace and just give it a go .
Good luck

I'm 53, an ex smoker (smoked 30 + years) diagnosed with COPD. Not run since at school. I'm now 4st lighter, and my lungs have been given a clean bill of health- I am now on my 4th Parkrun (time around 36-40 mins) I NEVER thought I would do this and be where I am today....its been tough, some runs tougher than others some I have sailed through....you have nothing to lose and age is just a number...listen to your body and you will do just fine - well done on taking up the challenge x
You can do this! The programme is amazing and it certainly works. Slow and steady, take your rest (non-run days) and ask lots of questions of all the knowledgeable, lovely people on this forum 👍
I have only done two runs , ok
Walk and runs ... but really enjoyed both times ,, must admit I am doing this in warmer climes
No absolutely not. 4 months ago I asked myself exactly the same questions. I completed the programme, have done a couple of park runs and try to get out for a stagger three times a week. Just follow the programme , take the days off and slow and steady.
I Will be 55 in a few weeks and have very creaky and stiff joints. I started the program last week and have survived so far. I am aching and stiff most of the time between runs but assured it will get better in time. Strangely I don't hurt particularly while I'm actually running. I do get a very positive mental buzz after each run which keeps me going and motivates me for the next one. All the support on here really helps too and I'm determined to keep going as long as my joints allow. Give it a go and let us all know how you get on.
Everyone's mileage varies but I'm 58 in March and now in W9.
Just go for it and see how you feel. I have dodgy knees and hips but I'd have them anyway.
Just a young pup then really! 63 years old and had heart surgery a few years ago - wish I'd started running before.
As one of the youngsters I started this last June age 59, currently training for my 1st half marathon
Like everybody else has said, definitely not! My mother's in her 50s aswell and she absolutely kicks my can when it comes to fitness.
Good luck. I have no doubt you will own this!
I started running again at 57 and completed my 5k park run about 6 weeks ago so don't think for a minute you're too old. Put on your running shoes and get going. It's hard but if you follow the programme it's doable.
60 years old here. You are not too old! You are not on your own - we are all here for you! Some of us may not be very fast but we get out there and go for it. (Still not managed 5k but can run for 30 mins!) You will feel so much fitter believe me.
I am a mere child among my peers at only 60 and will be doing my graduation run tomorrow or Thursday. I always felt obliged to say I hated running and only got talked into it because an injury stopped me doing my usual hobbies. I have to say that the programme works really well, the support and advice on here is fantastic and that I now really enjoy the running and will continue on into the future. Just heed the advice of the mentors on here and you will amaze yourself.
You are but a young pup. Now lace up your trainers and enjoy your first run. Take it nice and slow - it may feel weird, and you may think that people are staring at you but they won't be. Promise. Enjoy now.
I was 56, nearly 57 when I started. Overweight, never excercised before, scared, self-conscious but excited. I started WW and it was a girl there that told me all about this fantastic programme. She sorted out the podcasts for me and that was it. I was hooked and I have never looked back from that day to this. I hid in the woods, self conscious in my new lycra tights. I bloody loved it!
it's a life-changing programme it really is. I'm 60 now and feel fitter than I have ever done.
You only do the sessions very slowly and steadily. You'll be fine if you take your time. Enjoy yourself, it's fun!
Definitely! I am 64 and started 5 weeks ago Loving it Good luck
You are not on your own, there are lots of us who are not so young. I managed W5 run 2 the day after my 63rd birthday and saved the 20 minute run for my first of the New Year. Still moving on but going slowly. Getting fitter all the time and loving it!
I'm nearly 58 and overweight and I managed it so I'm sure you can. I never did any form of exercise before hand and live to run another day. Go for it!
Are you still running 🏃🏼♀️?
Did you lose weight through running ?
I am still running although not as often as I would like just lately.
It did help me lose weight with the help also of the app My Fitness Pal . That enabled me to see what I was eating calorie wise and how many calories I earned doing exercise. I always tried not to eat the calories I had earned exercising so found the weight came off. If I don't go running or do some form of exercise for a while I can see my weight creeping up again so the running is becoming part of life's journey.
Take it very slowly at first. A slow pace is vital for your body to adjust. The rest days are very important too. It’s mind over matter- a couple of weeks in and you will wonder why you left it so long to begin!😉
I am 57 too and beginning week 8. I am now half a stone lighter now and I am so glad I set off on my journey, Good luck and keep focussed!😀

You won’t be on your own - you’ll have your trainer - Micheal is my man - and the wealth of knowledge from so many people here - it definitely keeps me going 🙌
Ok
