Followed your advice

After 3 disappointing runs and posting on this forum, today I set out again and followed your advice. I did not push myself on speed. I ran for 30 minutes at my “Laura” speed, and at the end I still had some puff left in me, so I ran another 5 minutes as fast as I could, safe in the knowledge that I could then slow to a walk to cool down!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I will now focus on consolidation :)

Well done, you will enjoy your running so much more if you don't push hard all the time.

You are, and will remain for many months to come, a very new runner and building your running body is a slow process which is best achieved by the majority of your running being nice easy paced runs. Pushing hard needs to be restricted to approximately 20% of your running, otherwise the risk of injury rises hugely.

Good to hear you felt much better for the last run of the programme. Well done for running 35 mns (that's what I do in consolidation) and enjoy a lot more uplifting running for your postgraduate consolidation!
