...Then footwear can not be an excuse hurdle.
I let my young son off the 2 week day runs but he still wanted to run with me W7R3 on Sunday...only to find that I didn't have my trainers with me. Doh!
My son truly has a heart of gold, and realising how deflated I was, offered me his new trainers; the ones I purchased the other day so that he could continue to run with me. Yet still wanting to join me he ran in his old trainer like school shoes, shown in the photo.
Well fast forward to today....and I am experiencing rather a drama of a week...I was feeling quietly smug that my son gave me permission, before school, to borrow his trainers again...only to discover that I didn't have any trainers with me when I got to my running point. Yes, I could have wasted fuel and another 40mins of my busy morning to return home to get them, but just couldn't justify it. If my son could sacrifice and run in these on Sunday, then I could today!
I admit to worrying that I may be risking injury but they seemed reasonably comfy albeit a little thin soled and I assured myself that if I ended up just walking it then I'd still be doing something. I kept it slow and steady the entire run. Stretched out when I finished and I really am feeling accomplished with my achievement.
Thankfully, no sign of hives after running, since last week but it hasn't been quite so cold.
I can almost, hopefully not too optimistically, see the graduation line on the horizon.
