The unexpected turned up in the shape of a 14 year old on half term (related, but not mine) who needs to be factored into my busy schedule this week of looking after grandchildren, evening class, homework, a routine hospital scan and a tube strike.
So the first thing to go was running with the girls. The OH had promised to leave work by 5.00 p.m. so I could go. But the gremlins had other ideas and kept him there until past 5.45. Round one to them.
So me and Laura set out together slightly later than planned, and in order to show the gremlins it was no big deal we decided to do hills together round the local estate - up hill one side of the road and downhill the other. We figured if I was going to find it hard, there may as well be a good reason. And, actually, it was fine. I even managed a little 'sprint' in the last minute.
W8R2 on Wednesday - not sure how I'm going to make it though out as OH isn't back until 9.30 p.m. and I don't fancy running that late.
