Well done.
I hope the "gallons" of water is just for effect. Drinking too much water all in one go can cause a condition called hyponatremia, which is potentially fatal. Keep your hydration to small and regular intakes, throughout the day.

Good work, Lizzj!
The secret is, as IannodaTruffe points out, is to keep hydrated at all times! I drink plenty of water every day since I started running, and do feel better for it. When I run the morning after a couple of glasses of wine (I do love wine), I always have a less satisfying run. Funny - I think I might love running more than wine now! Running causes you to examine all areas of your health and fitness, eh?
We have to ready our bodies for running - good sleep, good fuel, water and strength training - but the rewards are plentiful.
Onwards and upwards, Lizzj! Enjoy week 5...keep on running. 😘
