Here’s a sentence I’ll never be able to say again...
This morning I took nearly 10 minutes off my PB for 5k!
Up early for my last run here before heading off to the Lake District for the final leg of this holiday. Same route as I did for my first ever 5k on Tuesday. Decided this time to run for exactly 5k and see whether I could run a bit faster than my deliberately slow pace of Tuesday.
Glorious weather, perfect conditions for running, only challenge was a large herd of cows blocking part of the route!
Got into my stride very quickly, despite pushing the pace on, and with 2k to go I realised I could probably break 40 mins for the 5k, so started really pushing it.
The final very steep uphill bit almost killed me, but I kept going, got to the top, and think it was a good sign that I’d actually recovered my breath again by the time Strava told me that the 5k was up.
Bottom line - Tuesday I did 5K in 47m 23s, today it was 37m 53s!
Buzzing - next run will be in the Lake District
