Did It! (at my second attempt). Discovered this forum a few days ago and so grateful for the helpful comments and encouraging stories. Running slow is definitely the answer to week 5.

I'm 55, overweight with cranky knees the the sense of achievement is amazing! Run 3 here I come!

Well done... slow and steady does it.. and really try to land lightly :)

Great job! Keep it slow and you'll find run3 (quite) easy! I also find it easier to focus on the amount of time you've run and not what's left to run. Sometimes the voice from the programme when it says you're halfway can be a bit destabilizing if you're struggling. The best is just to focus on now, and breathe in and out slowly as well. You'll be fine!

I agree. My first attempt failed because I lost heart at the half way point. This time I focused on distance rather than time. I run round a recreation ground (softer on the joints) so I can tell roughly where I need to get to. I guess we're all different though and need different targets.

Welcome and well done.

You have reached the stage where self belief is crucial, so positivity only from here on in. You can do this!

Be proud of that achievement and keep everything nice and slow. No prizes for speed in this programme.

Tell us how you get on.
