In a muddy damp forest, on a grey morning I ran My Poppy Run at the local Park Run.
I left the house in grey drizzle with low temperatures forecast so I whipped on the new compression top. I now know what toothpaste feels like. Especially when my new running trousers seem to also be snug.
The weather was much better than forecast so I ended up too warm but still not too bad a time for me. I did manage to get a twingey left buttock after slipping, but not falling over so I may have pulled a muscle that I didn't know really existed. And the hills still defeated me so ended up walking them.
Hey ho, onwards and upwards took a minute off my last park run.
One question, what is the best way to warm up for Park Runs as I wonder if with not doing the 5 minutes warm up, that may be part of the reason I struggled today. I did stretches and walked around the area for a bit but there is probably a better way to warm up?

Haha, you "know what toothpaste feels like" 😂😂😂 That's very funny. Yes, compression gear is totally unforgiving 😭
For warm up exercises try running slowly on the spot, leg swings forward and sideways, lunges, squats, kicking your legs to your bum, skipping, anything that gets the blood moving and prepares the body for the run ahead.
Well done to you for the run and for the minute shaved. And that's a lovely, precious medal.
