Gloves and hat will do. Discipline also helps.

Decide if you want to run early (dark, cold, lonely), or later in the day (dark, cold, marginally less lonely). Given there's not much difference all you need to do is simply go out and run.

People tend to overcook their options and often find excuses to stay indoors. If you prefer warmer environment than gym's an option but as we are not hamsters you should breathe fresh air outdoors.

And before you know it, there will be another spring & summer.

The right clothes..warm leggings as and when ..maybe a lightweight running jacket... a warm hat, and a Buff...gloves as it gets really cold.... high viz gear and a head torch.... get up early and just one foot in front of the other.. there will be loads of us running with you..:)

I graduated the week before Christmas 2105... :)

yep reflective gear etc needed but once you're out there and running it's fine

As a dog walker (and he needs a lot of walking) I am always surprised at how short winter really is. Now the clocks have gone back, it's still light until 5 and will gradually get darker until 21st December. There is a few weeks of very dark but often folk are on holidays for a couple of weeks and you can run in the day then. By mid January you will notice the light is returning. Watching the day by day changes in light, weather and landscape is part of the joy of being outdoors imho. Nothing quite so nice as walking/running in a crisp cold day, when you can feel and see your breath....Or listening to a scary novel as the fog descends!

Is there any flexibility in your working schedule? Could you run at lunch time? One run can be at the weekend and perhaps a second at the gym, if that suits you. So that leaves one more to find. Maybe find a pavement /well lit route for this one. As always variety is the spice of life.

The thing about having a dog is that he has to go, so I have to go...no choice. Maybe your running is your dog. No choice it has to be taken out there.

All the above....autumn and winter is the BEST time to run! (Unless it is too icey to be safe)πŸ˜€. Embrace the weather - I always run faster in the winter!!πŸ™‚
