On the road again

I’ve fallen off the running wagon for a couple of weeks. I didn’t want to but the difficulty of finding a time to run that didn’t adversely affect myself and anyone else had been tricky. Anyway I climbed back on that wagon today going back to week 6 run 1 to be kind to myself.

It was a sunny, blustery, wave crashing, rainbow filled morning on the north east coast. I got that lovely feeling of elation to be moving and out in the elements. Did a bit of run dancing (to Stool pigeon by Kid Creole for my fellow Retro Runners Hidden and Razouski ) along the cliffs. Marvelled at the loveliness of it all. Thought about the fab recent post by Oldfloss that made me want to get out and run along my bit of the coastline and just enjoyed myself.

I’ve bought a head torch - arriving early Novemberish - to help running on these darker evenings and mornings so I can try and get over this run timing issue and just keep going! Fingers crossed it helps.

What a lovely post and a beautiful picture. It can be so difficult finding the time to run, but so rewarding when you do. I love the thought of you run dancing to Kid Creole and The Coconuts. I was hanging wallpaper and dancing to Annie, I'm not Your Daddy on Friday, so I'll definitely be adding that to my new playlist. :-)

Kid Creole - how could I have forgotten him? I'm blaming middle aged brain fade again. I always think of you when The Cult, Eminem and Tom Petty comes on and Razouski specifically for I Ran by Flock of Seagulls and of course Tainted Love. I hope you don't mind but you two invariably run with me, I hope I'm not messing up your rest days! That coastline is so beautiful, that would get me dancing every time, well done you for carving out the time. I am packing up here to come back to grimy London via Holland. So am hoping to sneak in a run in Arnhem and visit a very helpful running shop where I last bought my Brooks trainers. Retro runners go!

I like the thought of us running with you especially since my runs have been few and far between. Will try my best to do another during the week. Hope the packing is going ok and you have a safe journey.
