Spent this morning in a running shop getting my gait analysed and buying my very first ever pair of running shoes. Then spent a lovely floaty 28 mins taking them out for their first run. I felt like I was floating on air. Never mind robot legs I had robot shoes lol. What a difference from normal trainers that I had been wearing. Looking forward to many happy miles with them. Now I just need a new wardrobe to match them!

Sooooo comfy too. I had to take care not to keep looking at my feet as I was running lol.

They’re lovely! It’s addictive - before long, you’ll have more running gear than anything else!

Haha, me too! I’m terrible! I bought three pairs of running shorts this week just because they were cheap! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Looking forward to clocking up the miles in them already. I didn't want to take them off when I got home lol

Those are very good shoes, you will a few more pairs before you've blinked ;) I use Brooks for long walks and daily chores, Asics for running, both offering great support for my glass-made tendons.

Clothes? No compromise! Go for colours and shock, make a statement. Shades? Don't forget those either ;)

Enjoy yourself, first & foremost!

I hadn't heard of the make before but really happy with what I've now read and the fit and feel are great. I've also discovered that there's no such thing as clashing colours when running lol

Use kaleidoscope as a guide ;)

Those are lovely! I tried the very same pair in last week (but sadly they are too wide for my very narrow kippers). But great looking shoe with a very good reputation. Happy running, Ren! x

I took my time in the shop and got loads of great advice. I hadn't heard of the make before but read up afterwards and really happy with what I read. Most importantly though I'm really happy with how they feel and how the fit. Raring to go for week 9. Got to run to keep up with you x

Well, that might be easier than you think as I am having a wee niggle at the moment! Keep me cheery by reporting your progress. You are doing a grand job, my lovely. :-)

Oh no, I liked your post but wanted to unlike it if you know what I mean! Hope it's nothing bad. I've had a similar week with a sore calf muscle since my run on Wednesday. I really thought I was going to have to delay run 3 but luckily hubby is a sports physio so I've been well looked after and it probably brought forward my shopping trip today by a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed for graduating next Saturday at the local park run. Sending healing thoughts for your niggle. Hope it's gone soon X

Now more than ever I need my b/friend to train to be a sports therapist! Thank you for your kind words, dear Ren. Glad your calf muscle is all sorted. x
