W9R1.... 1 down 2 to complete

Just wondering if anyone else when they got to this part with the finish line in sight starts to hope and pray that they don't suffer any injuries and get delayed to complete. I must admit I am thinking of doing the next two in the gym avoiding slippy leaves etc. Still it's being so cheerful that keeps me going 😀😀

Yes, I did! But it was summer when I graduated so the weather was kinder (although that's never a given). Good luck.

Ha, I get this! Am just about to start W9 and am torn between feeling like you - fear that cruel fate could intervene to stop me finishing - and a sense of dread that I’ll complete the course as planned, but then lose all momentum without a programme to follow.

I feel the same! Week 9 starts tomorrow and it's so exciting, but am also worried about how to keep the motivation going once I get to the finish. Maybe work slowly on pace, increaasing a bit at a time until I can get to that 5k in 30 minutes (not near it now!) i think if I have something to work towards then that will keep me going.

Hey dapsmith

Yup! I am feeling that too. Just did my first run of week 9 and it did help a bit to dispel the gremlins. Just two runs to go. I think I have been so lucky so far, and I just want to make it to the end. This is making me hyper vigilant about my body - stretching well after my runs, obsessing over any slight muscle aches or twinge, drinking gallons of water etc. Feel a bit mad.

But we got to have faith and keep on going! Nearly there...and then on to a life of a good running habit, I hope!

Best of luck to you!

Hi

I’m hoping to do my Graduation run at the Poppy Run in Nottingham - but that’s still 2 weeks away - hope I get there!

This brings back memories! When I did C25k, my dog helpfully dragged me over on a cliff path, resulting in a chipped ankle bone. I’d just finished Week 8 and then had 5 weeks sulking on the IC. I was seething!

You're doing brilliantly, Week 9! Think back to week 1 run 1, I nearly fell off of my chair when I looked back at the posts I put when I started.

It doesn't really matter whether you do the last runs inside or outside, just enjoy the runs and keep us updated.

You got this, dapsmith281 Graduate, that's got a good ring to it, hasn't it?

Ha ha yes me too !!! It feels safer in the air conditioned gym on the treadmill, yet I wanted to go the park this morning and guess what I woke up to heavy torrential downpour ! To back to the gym. I am on week 8 run 1 !
