Second run in two days and it felt good. No stiffness and no aches or pains today. Will take a rest day tomorrow to let 'Storm Brian' blow itself out.

In two days? As in, you have run back-on-back with no rest day in between?
That's how physios make a living. Please don't do that. You feel good, you can do it, then you push yourself a bit more, why not, you're feeling good - and then one sunny day, you're not feeling good because you are injured.
The above is my personal experience. Back on back running sent me off running for months.

Two runs in two days shows great enthusiasm and dedication, but assuming you are new to running, it is unwise to run on consecutive days. when you run you create micro tears in your muscles. These repair and strengthen on your rest days, so if you miss them no repair, no strengthening and you increase your injury risk.
Read this blog.fitbit.com/6-reasons-w... and always take your rest days.

Don't do it.... take note of the replies please...
I did and still do everything by the book, but managed a calf tear.. the IC is not a great place to be. If you are following the C25K programme..the rest days are an essential part of it
The hidden injuries are the ones that will floor you .
