Not sure.... but the answer is.. slow down ...and when you have slowed down.. slow down more:)

Just stop over thinking and worrying. You know , from your first post ,what you feel. You are asthmatic and have avoided exercise. So... your meds are all sorted.. you are cleared to run...( Have you checked with your asthma nurse)... but maybe you are a tad uneasy... and this will impact on you.

So.... just relax... take it slower than a snail on a go slow.... and just move gently and in a relaxed way :)

Each run will make you stronger...just have confidence in the programme and faith in yourself. We are right here with you.... Slow and steady :)

I started on a treadmill set at 8kph, god it was hard, got to wk 3 and slowed it to 5.5kph, god what a difference! Just done wk7 and now training outdoors back at wk6.

It doesn't matter if you can walk faster than you jog, you are jogging! Well done for starting & keep at it!

Don’t worry it will get easier. I really struggled and still am but it is relative. I just finished a week of 25 minute runs and I started struggling with 60 seconds runs just like you. At the end of week 1 I convinced myself to redo the week but the kind people of the forum lifted me up and encouraged me forward into the following weeks.

As OldFloss says keep it slow and steady. Go off too fast and you will make it harder for yourself. Trust the programme the step up each work do work.

Slow and steady does it, the first week is always difficult! Persevere and it WILL become easier! In a few weeks you won't even have to think about running for a minute to catch the train, you'll do it and won't get out of breath!
