So after completing WK8R3 last Friday I've been unable to do WK9 as I've got a sore knee (apparently runners knee) I've done all the right things R.I.C.E and it's beginning to feel a lot better but to make sure I'm fully recovered I'm going to continue with resting until Monday when I intend to get back out there even though it's been awful not being able to go running but don't want to do more damage.......feeling nervous. Problem is do I start WK8 again or go straight into WK9.....please help

I had a cold last week and didn’t run for a full week and I was at the same point, when I started again I did w8r3 again then went onto w9 but see how u feel after the first run back, only you will know how much your knee can take. Good luck

See what you can manage. If at 28 minutes you feel okay, go for the thirty.

I would be surprised if you could stop yourself.

If your knee is hurting when merely walking, something's not right. I ignored it at it flared up, got worse and l was off running for 3 months.

Go and see a physio, all respect to GP but you need a pro to decide what's happening. Could be something trivial but better safe than sorry.

Ask for an urgent referral and if you feel GP is trying to talk her/his way out go private. The best £40 ever invested.

Good luck!

Saw GP today told me not to run for at least two weeks then see how I feel gave me Naproxen

Naproxen is powerful and will help ease the flare up, however, it won't tackle the cause. That's what GPs do, and that's why when l walked out l booked a physio who helped me with no pills. GP would only refer you in extreme situations but normally they would just give you off the counter medication, and that will not help the root of the problem. I genuinely wish l was wrong..
