Hello my running family. I bet you thought you'd got rid of me?! Well, sorry, I'm still here and ready tell all about my life after C25K!!
First run today without Mr Smooth and it felt very, very strange not hearing his voice at intervals throughout the run but I managed although I might have to listen to him once a week so he doesn't think I've abandoned him!!
The run felt good and despite being at school today and walking 9,321 steps(today is 'walk to the swimming pool' day) before I had even begun the run, it went well!!
A different day weather wise, cloudy β οΈ with the odd spot of rain βοΈ in the air but it was pleasant and the colours in my local park are amazing ππ³π
Only slight hiccup is the little bridge that takes me over the stream has been closed off for repairs so I had to adjust my route fairly quickly in order to find myself on the right side of the park!
Crisis averted, so I continued on with my run, listening out for the very automated voice of the 'Map My Run' lady telling me that I had completed 4km. That spurred me on to complete the 5km as I was hoping to take part in my very first Parkrun on Saturday. Sadly, I won't be able to do that as our local one is not being held as there is another run taking place and it's not open to the public π’
So 5km completed in a slightly quicker time that the last one so it's a thumbs up ππΌ all round but here comes the best bit......my daughter is coming home from uni on Friday for the weekend and I cannot wait to see her ππ
Happy running to all the starters, the people who are half way through and the ones who are knocking on the graduation door and to all those who think that "I can't possibly get off the couch and run and ENJOY it", I'm telling you, YES YOU CAN, SO GET OUT THERE AND TRY IT!! ππ
See you later, my running family ππ»ββοΈππΌ

I totally empathise with the Mr Smooth less runs. I really struggled without him on my first post grad run. It was a bit of a come down to be honest as I am so dependent on his voice! I decided to run without him again last night. It was better, marginally, but I'm going to be tough and be MJ free. It feels like I'm ending a beautiful relationship. I might, just might, let him talk to me now and again πππββοΈ
Well done. Glad you're still with us, love to read your posts. Pretty autumnal colours... I went out today too, a little behind where I wanted to be, finishing Week 8. Found it quite cool. But when I got back my delivery from Regatta outlet was there... windproof filet will be much appreciated on my next run if it's equally cool!
Lovely run Kimchoc08 ....your legs will be like Arnies with all those steps & the walking!!! I have to agree with you about the colours in the park, I love looking out of my windows as I have an ever changing picture...itβs beautiful!! Well done on the 5k too, I have managed 4.6 in 28 mins so far, which I donβt suppose is bad, Iβm enjoying it, like you & thatβs the main thing...you must be bursting with excitement at the thought of seeing your Daughter too?!! Double bubble of happiness!!! x
Lovely to hear from you Kim - and great running still (not that I ever doubted!)
Have an amazing weekend with your daughter (off to visit mine at uni next week) - imagine you'll be very proud of what you've both achieved during her first term away! π
Well done. Lovely pics of your route. Iβm looking forward to my first post graduation run. Life constraints will mean itβs Saturday for me and a different route so will mix it up a bit with distance and timing/pace. Hereβs hoping the weather stays kind.
