Week 4 Run 3 done....

Hello my fellow runners!

Told you all that I'd be back.

So after 11 days of no running due to work and sheer exhaustion, I dragged myself out this evening. I was laying down but couldn't sleep, feeling sluggish and it wasn't long before it was going to start getting dark outside but something told me to get up and go.

So that's what I did and I'm happy I did because I was beginning to feel worried that my fitness would've declined but to my amazement the run went well. No tightness in my shins like before and I actually enjoyed it.

So that's week 4 done.

I would like some advice though. Because I had a 11 day gap between run 2 and 3, should I move on to Week 5 like normal on Thursday or should I do over another run from week 4?

I did week 4 with no problems and from today's run its obvious that my fitness hasn't really suffered at all. (At least all those steps at work are good for something).

Think it's safe to say that Donna is finally back. I've learnt a lesson too...

Life will sometimes get in the way but whatever you do, don't give up. Doubt kills more dreams than a try and failure ever will.

Well done Donna79. I knew you would be back!

No, I would say don't repeat as you did this run. It is amazing after a few weeks, just how much fitness you have in the bank.

So go straight week 5. Do not pass GO, do not collect £200......

Thank you Helenwheels. My instinct is to go straight to week 5 on Thursday. Maybe if today was difficult I would've redone a run but I think moving on like you said is best.

Ok.... week 5 here I come.

Well done on today's run. I'd say that you can go onto WK5 as all of WK4 runs have been completed ✅

Thanks lovelies.

Week 5 it is then tomorrow.

I'm like a child at Christmas who can't keep from peeking at the presents under the tree.

It's getting serious now. Think I'll be ok for my 3x5 minute run tomorrow. Sharp increases after that but I'm not stressing. Trying not to anyway. Amazed I've come this far and so I've put my trust in this programme that I will succeed.

When I started this programme I couldn't even jog/run a 1/4 of the playing field that I go to for my runs. Now I'm sure that I'm covering at least half of it non stop. Really looking forward to covering a full lap non stop like the other runners who I see doing lap after lap like it's nothing. :-)
