Week 5 Run 3

Hi everyone

So this is the second time that I have attempted couch to 5k. Going better than the first time around.

When the runs are broken down with walks in between generally I can do them. However, when I need to do 20 minutes in one go I really struggle and need to walk for a bit. Seems to be a mental block that I have - how do I overcome this? I have continued the app and now on week 7 but feel as though I should go back to week 5...........

Also do you take water with you when you run?

Thanks

Elaine

Hi Elaine I have just (about 5 minutes ago) finished W5R3 and it was tough. I ran really slowly which really helped and concentrated on the my music not how long the run was. I'm sure you'll do it. Keep trying and good luck.

Slow down is the simple answer..then slow down more:)

Make sure you do other non impact exercise too, on rest days.. we need to build up our stamina and strength along with the legs:)

Carry on..but warm up really well, relax and just go as slow as you care to. Breathe gently and just put one foot in front of the other..let your legs take you. You can do this :)

Welcome Elaine.

So if you are on W7 you have run for 25minutes. I don't understand why you would need to go back to W5R3, to run 20 minutes.

If you are well hydrated at all times then there is no need to carry water for any run of up to an hour, unless it is very hot.
