Very apt. What do you guys wear? Iβm ok for tops, but yesterday evening with a cold wind the shorts felt a little lacking. Track suit bottoms might be too much. Any other suggestions?
I wear a pair of Adidas response running shorts with climalite they have a compression lining fitted, been using these for along time and good when it gets a bit nippy & draughty, excellent quality, going under 10deg I start wearing my ronhill classic trackstar trousers, they're not so tight fitting so don't show off everything! But have stirrups over the feet and after a few seasons get a tad slack and come out from within the shoe when running, but no big problem really..
I've just got a pair of sub4 men's running tights from up and running in the sale at Β£14.99 half price, now these are a different matter being tighter! (even an XL size) Like my wife making comments on my great looking legs, so maybe a tad revealing also in other areas if you get my meaning!π So will have to get the courage up to wear them! And no ladies! I'm not putting on a photo! That's for new shoe's only!π
Thanks for this, I just asked a question about this a little while ago π. Iβm wearing a short sleeved tshirt and yoga trousers just now so it gives me a guide for when the weather gets colder. Cheers!
Being a newbie try different combinations to see what suits you, you'll work it out, if you wear a jacket and get too hot you can tie it around your waist, better to have a tad too much than not enough and be freezing, not that the temps down that way yet .. as you see the guide gives a good indication, but we are all different, some feel the cold more than others I tend to get too hot with a lot of clothes on, I bought some running gloves but rarely use them, and tend to pull down the sleeve's when starting out, then once warmed up do not really need anything on the hands as they sweat anyway..π
Thanks for this. I was thinking about what to wear when the weather starts to get cooler.
Great guide, I brought a long sleeved top Monday and the weather changed! π at least I'm ready when it changes back again π
I've bought a light weight running jacket - I need pockets to keep my phone in as I don't like armbands. Of course since I bought it the weather has changed and I get very warm. I can't tie it around my waist as then my earphones won't reach. Anybody got any suggestions? I'm new to this running lark and have no clue about equipment!
I think you can buy running belts to keep phone/keys etc. Must get one myself as I run along with them in my hands!
What about a running belt? You can get one in Decathlon
I feel the cold. I am the one indoors with two jumpers on while hubby and kids are in t-shirts. When I start my warm up walk I am covered in goosebumps and miserable. A few minutes into running I am about right. After 5 minutes I am cooking and start sweating. By the time I get home I am dripping and the house is too hot. Then I start cooling down and I'm cold so get in a hot shower. I was not designed for the UK climate and it's only going to get worse as winter approaches.
My ideal would be a route where I could do a short circuit, throw excess clothes over the hedge and then carry on!
Lol! Were we separated at birth? This is me! I am regularly ribbed by my husband about my interior thermostat! I'm often in a dilemma as to how much to wear when I run & it doesn't help with such changeable weather. Guess I'll just stay as the queen of layers! Wishing you happy, temperate runs!
Morning davelinks! Thanks for the layering advice and the great chart. That will help me decide what layers I need when I go out running. At the moment I just wear t shirt and Capri running shorts and that suffices as it is still warm for October and being a woman of a certain age too much layering overheats me,but enough said about that the better !! hee! hee! π‘ππ
Anyhoo thanks again and
Happy running!ππ
