Interesting! In general life I always wear natural fibres but running gear is all polyester so for the first time in donkeys years I have a drawer full of polyester. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the smells to accumulate!! I always wash them in a biological liquid - they didn't say whether that made any difference or not though.
One of my reasons for preferring natural fibre dates back to the days when my mother discovered nylon bedding. We had the lot - sheets, pillowcases nightdresses. I used to spark all the way to the bathroom in the morning - its a wonder we didn't self ignite
Nylon sheets !- Ah the horror of it !
Don't know if anyone remembers a bedding store called Brentford Nylons in the 70's ? They were always advertising on telly and having sales . Oh they had the most lurid colours, vivid pinks and oranges . You used to get into bed and slide out of the other side as the sheets and covers were so slippy ha ha xxx
Aaarggh! Brentford Nylons!
Argh! I remember them. My Mum thought they were great. I suppose they were the first ones that didn't need ironing - but they were just horrible!
They were Ully , they slid off the bed during the night so that you would wake up freezing cold just clutching a very small corner !
They made a crackling sound and made your hair stand on end with the static ha ha xxx
ππ pink and orange sheets for me, blue for my brothers. How we hated those nylon sheets. Fond memories of my brothers watching to see if the sparks would set my hair on fire ππ
Ah such happy memories! We had loads of the damned things as my sis worked for Supa save, til they got closed down for fire safety reasons π Imagine, one spark from a nylon bottom sheet and kaboom π
I watched the programme last night (same episode as the HIIT) and was very surprised that there was no mention on Brentford Nylons βΊ
