Week 8 Run 1. I'm chuffed with myself having got this far and determined to graduate - reading this forum has made ALL the difference, thank you all. As a reward, I'm going to treat myself to some real running clothing, to replace my saggy t-shirts and leggings! Is buying from Sports Direct a false economy? Has anyone got positive or negative experience? Love the jazzy Tikiboo types but a bit costly.

I had excellent help from a runner who works in our local Sports Direct. SO happy with my ASICS trainers & Karrimor running gear from them. If you scroll back through the recent posts, winter clothing came up & there were excellent suggestions and links!

I've bought loads from Decathlon their prices are really good. Recent purchase was 3 long sleeve running tops and they were only £7.99 each. Sports direct have really great range also 😊

I’ve just bought a set from Decathlon and I’m really happy with them. Incredibly comfortable and very good prices 👍🏻

I love Sturdy by Design, and she often has a sale on. I just bought....a few items as they were 40% off, to make room for the winter gear.

It's worth creating an account, so you can get notifications, I would advise getting a size up in the leggings, they are brilliant though, great designs and stay put!.⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️addictive!

I also discovered Decathlon yesterday and got a nice long sleeved running top for a good price.

I agree with Buddy34 decathlon are great really reasonable and good quality they also have some funky leggings not quite as funky as tikiboo but still nice. I also keep an eye out at Aldi and Lidl who often have stuff in.

The 3/4 lycra leggings I bought also had a drawstring at the waist which I found good

And two pockets

Mine had a zipped pocket at the back

I think the winter ones have two

As long as I have a drawstring at the waist I'm quite happy just makes them feel so secure😊

Like you, I have reservations about supporting SD with my custom, but actually the cheap stuff I bought from them in 2014 is still going strong, so can't really complain about the quality!

I agree, Customer service in SD is appalling.

I've got Sports direct USA Pro stuff that I use for yoga, I've also got a long sleeved running top. I think if you're comfortable then all is good.

Decathlon and Aldi seem to be very popular for running gear on these forums. I buy ronhill because the leggings aren’t too long for me like most brands. I’d say don’t buy too many tops because if you start entering races later you will get plenty. Running shoes are the biggest investment you will make. If you look in pinned posts there is an excellent Article on buying shoes in FAQS.

Thanks Dexy5, yes, I got gait tested and invested before I actually began C25K. Figured I owed it to give my body the best chance.

Hi Sports Direct Karrimor range and Decathlon suit me fine although I’m hoping for a nice set of shorts from Wiggle for Christmas! Make sure you have at least one pocket for your key. As Dexy said the most important piece of kit are your shoes. Well done getting this far. The podium is in sight x

Thanks Running Chocoholic, best name so far! Good advice and yeah, I figured if I first invested in the right footwear, I'd have to stick to the plan, coz they weren't cheap! So worth it though - I'm still here...
