The gremlins keep visiting me this week (week 7). The little terrors won't leave me alone! I can't stop clock watching - music originally helped but now I'm finding myself thinking 'that's two songs I've listened to so I must be six minutes in'....So, next run I'll try an audio book to see if that helps. Determined to banish the week 7 gremlins!
Hope you're all having good running weeks.

I'm on week 7 too - just completed run 2 this morning. I am fine the first 20 mins; my gremlins kick in for the last 5 and it is really annoying! A disembodied voice tells me "you cannot manage the last 5 mins, you are DONE!" The only remedy is to get angry, I find. I swear lots. (In my head). I WILL EFFING DO IT SHUT UP!
Distraction is key to stopping you focus on time, I think. Today I focussed firstly on form - so, I tried to run 1 min engaging my core. Then I focussed on relaxing my shoulders for a while. Then I focussed on the lyrics of the songs I was listening to. Then I concentrated on my breathing... and so on. Focus on anything and everything but time!
You sound like you are doing great, Em! I might try a podcast for my next run.
Hide your watch or phone or whatever tells you the time. You will be told.
Look around you and make a running commentary (did you see what I did there?) of everything you can see. Yes, try an audio book. Compose your next post on this forum in breathless prose. Anything to distract you. Sadie-runs is dead right.
