So , here's a question... if I run in the evenings I have to run straight after my evening meal - and I mean big one , not a little snack- partly because of timings, partly because I'm just too hungry to run without it. But... if I run in the morning I have to do it before breakfast and on an empty stomach which seems okay too as I don't wake up hungry .. to be honest even with a full stomach I never feel sick or anything... just wondering what I should do as running with a belly full of pie or roast dinner just seems a bit odd!
To eat or not to eat..: So , here's a question... - Couch to 5K
To eat or not to eat..
It is recommended to wait a couple of hours after a heavy meal before running, but if you feel okay then why worry. We are all different.
I am an empty stomach runner.
Thank you for the tips!
If I have a big glass of water before I go out, it spends the entire run trying to come back up again. A few sips is all I can manage. I'd probably be sick if I ran after dinner! Funny how we are all different.
I prefer to run in the morning and before breakfast. I would just drink water and have a banana and I feel just fine.
On my last run I ate breakfast 1st, I don't know why. Was just one of those days where I couldn't get going. Anyway waited for 2 hrs to pass but I just felt heavy.
So in future I'll be going back to just water and a banana.
I'm starting to feel like a freak now! If I run before breakfast thing I have a cup of coffee (usual waking routine) and think that , by rights it ahoukd really make me throw up... it hasn't. Yet. 😂
I run early... Cup of tea.. two digestives.. head out about 45 mins to an hour later... one sip of water just before I leave. Works well for me.
