Week 8 done but...

I found runs 2 & 3 harder than run 1. Think I'm going to take a couple of recovery days in between runs before graduation. No rush. These longer runs are draining me though I am pretty chuffed I'm now hitting around 35 minutes for 5k. This was unthinkable a couple of months ago. Three more runs until my shiny πŸ₯‡πŸ˜€πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Again I cannot thank all the wonderful people on here enough for getting me this far.

Hi Lottie_C; you are progressing really well, in fact I think you are pushing it harder than you should. Ease off a little, this programme is all about being able to run for 30 mins and in my opinion not to be able to run 5k in 30 mins or less. I understand that peoples goals, aspirations and above all their abilities are different, but dont be to hard on your self, your coming into the home straight now, the winning tape in position and the gong's been polished ready for you. The sub 30 will come without risks of spending time on the dreaded I.C.

Well done!! Way to go! πŸ‘πŸ»I am beginning to think I will never get to 5k but not to worry! If I don’t it’s not the end of the world...if I do by some stroke of luck then bonus!!

Thanks! Take it at your own pace. Time running is better than distance covered.

I agree with you, take it as you feel comfortable, many have mentioned previously ' the 10% rule ' all you need to do now is run for 33mins until you know its time to move on, be it in 3 mins increments if it suits you; you will surprise yourself .

Well done. Glad you said you’re tired. I’m doing 7.3 tomorrow and I have to say I’m weary. Every other day takes it out of you now they are all long runs.

Good luck tomorrow Tom and thanks

Hi Lottie nice time... and I think you're spot on to take an extra day or do if you need it. Cumulatively you could be over 100km by now and only 8 weeks ago it was zilch.so blooming well done you looking forward to your podium post

I found WK8R2 hard today and I think it's because I only took 1 rest day instead of my usual 2. I'm currently in the middle of looking at unis with my daughter so have to juggle my runs with that and working!! It's a nightmare!!

Well done on today's run 😊😊

Well done you too. I've got a couple of busy days and late finishes ahead so am quite happy to start W9 on Friday. My plan is definitely two days off for last 3 runs. So hopefully I will graduate a week on Thursday. Champagne will be on ice πŸ˜‰
