In order to run longer distances l think it's good to get to know your 5k first. l spent several months drilling 5k three times every week until l got comfortable with it. My target, based of my age (53) and body shape (tall and slim), was 30 min or less. Then I moved on to Bridge to 10k.

What l learned is that you cannot push your body outside its zone before time. And l also wanted to enjoy the process without pain.

When I pushed it before, my knee and my ankle rebelled and stopped me. No point in doing that to yourself, oh no ;)
