Hello there, I'm Liborek who's starting to run, again...

I'm in week one, second run completed today; painful experience I must add. This is my second go on this app as the first one, which I did with my daughter, ended with return of my old knee injury. That was about six weeks ago. Now I'm more careful and I'm using knee brace and I run on grass/running course rather than on road as I did before.

I feel that I'm fairly unfit and I certainly need to shed some excess weight. I'm determined to change in therms of adopting more sports and general exercise into my daily/ weekly routine. Any advice is welcome, thank you.

Welcome ... Take it slowly and steadily....you will already be good at listening to your body!

Make sure you take your rest days and try to get some non impact exercise on those days too... Maybe Strength and Flex? Swimming, cycling, walking and even a day's gardening or housework.. all helps the build up of stamina:)

Welcome to your new support group.

Floss has given you the basics.

If you have knee problems make sure you don't stride out too far. Your footstrike should be under your body not out in front.

As soon as you decide you are going to commit to running, I would recommend that you get some good running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop, if you haven't already.

Good luck.

That's great; thank you guys for the welcome and advise. I'll certainly take a look at the strength exercise for the rest days. Thanks for your support.
