The day before I had my now very fit 12 yr old I was in the gym. Roll on 12 years; now over weight ,unfit ,high cholesterol. I have always hated running but this week decided to try this. Three ,week one runs, later and no injuries and I still cannot believe this will work . A superfit marathon running mum passed me today . I explained what I was doing and she gave me a hug . It was so lovely to get such encouragement so hi everyone

First of all -Well Done Merbaby!

I too am a sixties child, never done any running before in my life and started at the end of June this year.

This programme is great but the key is to run so SLOWLY - think Light Jog!

As I run I would say "Light Jog Light Jog " to myself & if I start to feel breathless, go even SLOWER! 🐢🐢🐢

It's not a race it's about slowly increasing time and stamina by a tiny bit each week.

Take it one run at a time & only look at the week you are doing - don't look ahead, it will all happen quicker than you think!

And above all - Enjoy!! 😊

Ha ha ha I hate running too and get so impatient to do it on my off days. A special kind of hate that's more like really liking it :-)

Well done keep going!! I thought I would hate this running malarkey...but I look forward to going out every time! If someone has said that to me 7 weeks ago I would have thought they were loopy!! 🤣

Believe it, it WILL work. I am utterly astounded in week 3 that I am running for 3 whole minutes after panting my way through 1 min in week 1! 🏃‍♀️

When I started C25K my wife said "You won't get me running. I always hated running!"

I said nothing, but seeing the changes in me over the weeks, my wife started before I completed the course.

We now both run. We now both love running. Things change...........

I am sitting here very sad and upset. I did the first three runs fine then repeated one they all went absolutely fine I even enjoyed it. Then after tonight I got stabbing pains in my belly button area sporadically. Ten years ago after my second child I had an umbilical hernia repair which was then redone with a mesh. Sorry everyone for all these details. I am scared and think I have to stop has anyone else had similar? By the way thanks for your lovely messages
