You're strengthening your bones, you're raising your heart rate (I find it weird how an 'easy' run does that so much better than a brisk and unpleasant feeling walk) and you're having fun. Job done.
YAYYYYY!! That is so lovely to hear. I so agree that loving it is what it is all about. Finding any activity we love is fabulous. If we had all loved sport at school we might not be doing this now. Wouldn't it be great if school sports was made this much fun?
School sports left me with a life long feeling of not being good enough...always picked last not wanted on the team...maybe that's why am loving this...it is just for me!!
It's me too! I did speed up a bit a couple of years ago, but now I've slowed down again. Do I care? Nah...I still love what I do, and you get to look at the scenery properly at a slower pace! I always said I wouldn't want to use up all the fun at once!
I will never be fast have run now for 4 years and think back to when I first started I would only go out in the dark and would change direction if someone was approaching because I felt silly and embarrassed. Now I don't give a dam I'm proud ,healthy, having fun and yes i remain slow and steady but that's me and I love me 😃
Good for you...it will be me too..I honestly don't care if I don't ever get to 5k, that is not what this is about... for me it is the fact that turning 50 has made me really think about my lifestyle, and the past 7 weeks have been great.
It creeps up on you after that last 30 min run/jog ... the determination sets in ... I will do 5k ... the time ... doesn't matter ...I'll watch now in interest 🏃🏼♀️🐶
