Ache behind shoulder

Is this a common running problem?

My daughter says it aches behind her shoulder every time she is running. I watched from behind on our run yesterday and she seems to use her arms symmetrically, if you see what I mean, so not sure why one should be acheing in particular. Any thoughts please? Thank you.

Is she relaxed when she is running and not holding her shoulders stiff?

That's what I wondered but looks like they're moving with her arms when I watched.

Shoulders through to hands need to be relaxed. Elbows should be at a loose 90° and swinging from shoulders in a forward and back motion, not across the body. Hands should not be gripping, but again loose.

She is not carrying something in her hand as she runs, is she?

She might be swinging across the body actually. I'll check on our next run, thank you.

Next run was better thanks, she tried to relax more and swing forwards not across.

She noticed tonight some pain again and realised she'd not been so relaxed so we think we found the reason. Just need to work on using the solution.
