C25K - my story

Hi all, long time lurker wanting to share my story.

About 10 weeks ago I was signed off work with stress, and I'm still some way off returning (currently trying to find another job).

I made it my mission to get healthy and this led me to couch to 5k. Currently on week 8 with run 2 tomorrow (done every run gremlin free!) and currently running around 4.5k in 28 minutes so closing in on my aim of 5k in 30 minutes!Planning my first Parkrun on graduation on September 16th then consolidation then I have a 10k training plan for a race in April via podrunner, while continuing to do Parkrun every other week. I'm also doing KettleBell, aerobics and badminton on 'off days', as well as cutting back on booze and eating healthier! Lost half a stone since starting- onwards and upwards and good luck to everyone on their journey!

A positive post! That is what we love on here... well done you, on all levels!

Keep it slow and steady as you head towards those 30 minute runs:)

Wow. Those are *huge* accomplishments in 10 weeks. Congrats. And it's so cool that you already have plans for a 10k. Sounds like you've caught the bug!

Well done, you came to this from a very low point and you have turned it around and you are now taking control of your life. At a time when you could have easily shut the world out you chose a different path. You are an inspiration. We will be lucky to have you alongside as a fellow graduate!!
