So, W7R3 completed yesterday. Toughest run of the three, despite the glorious setting! This was definitely the closest I've come to not finishing a run but I did push through it... I was hoping these longer runs would get a bit easier, not tougher 😥 Anyone else struggle with this week?
Just about managed week 7...: So, W7R3 completed... - Couch to 5K
Just about managed week 7...
I'm just one run behind you and felt exactly the same yesterday. I didn't know if it was because I was tired or if it was later in the day than I normally run but about 3/4 of the way round I was having a real huff and puff. Just like you kept going though. Keep telling myself it's miles in the bank. Next one tomorrow. Keep it up:)!!!
Yes, that's what I keep telling myself! Next one tomorrow for me as well, 28 mins.... Last run of our holiday. Will try to find a flatter route, see if that helps. Good luck with your run!
Beautiful! Well done!
Some runs are harder... if in doubt, just slow down more... the longer runs are great because they give you time to find your happy and comfy pace.. but you need to have the stamina and strength for them That is why core strength and stamina exercise on rest days become even more important!
I, as many of us have a little exercise regime worked out and it really helps with the longer ( and even the shorter faster) runs too
Slow and steady as you go... you will be fine
Yes, I've been pretty lazy on rest days... I think the time has come to get serious about core and leg strengthening workouts. Thanks for the advice! 😊 And for your mantra, you don't know how many times I've focused on it to help me push through!
Holiday runs are amazing but also difficult because you don't know the terrain so you can find yourself running up hills when you didn't intend to.
But some runs are just harder than others. I knew as soon as I set off yesterday it wouldn't be a good one. Thursday night was brilliant. No idea why. Just one of those things.
In the end it doesn't matter. Every run makes you stronger.
These longer runs will continue to strengthen both your legs and your lungs, your doing great and the finish is getting closer
Hey I think we all have to some extent. Remember at this stage it's conceivable you've clocked up about 100km of running. If I had my time again, I would take an extra rest day during the later weeks, maybe not for every run, but certainly the ones when I felt they had been particularly tough. Glorious place to run, that must have helped pull you through. Good luck and happy running for W8
What an amazing view it's very different running on holiday and I found Week 7 very tough - keep going the end is in sight 😊
Thanks everyone, you're all so amazing and supportive. I will get there thanks to all your great advice and knowing that I'm not alone! 😊
