28 minutes doesn't seem like much more than 25 but I'm feeling worried that it might defeat me. 3 minutes is a long time in run terms. When Mr Smooth - he'll always be referred to as this now in my mind @Jancanrun - says 60 seconds to go it seems to last a lifetime. I meant to go out yesterday but wasn't feeling 100% and didn't think that would be a good basis for an attempt, so have given myself an extra day. Have been reading posts here which have made me feel better and inspired so will eat my pre-run snack -banana and a slice of toast - and get myself out of the door and see what happens!

antet you can do it. Try to enjoy the run. I was a bit worried about moving on to this one but it was fine.
You can do this... just think as you finish those minutes, how far you have come... how ell you have done and the party we are going to have at your Graduation.
Start slow, then slow down.. relax into the run, let your body take you... breathe easily, land lightly, kissing the ground with your feet...gently as you go , enjoying the longer run and letting those running legs carry you forward.
The run will be done before you know it
You will be fine. Worst that can happen is you don't make it and have to try again so nothing to fear. But so many people have felt like this and then gone out and done it, no reason you should be any different. The programme works, but not if you start worrying you will fail and so not trying. Get out there before it gets too hot.
I have just done W8R2 won't say it was easy but honestly after working through this program you can do it. I really did start week one from the couch so if I can do it anyone can. Go out and enjoy the beautiful weather and enjoy the fact that you are a runner.
Just done W8R1. Can't say I was looking forward to it. Took me ages to settle in to my run and relax. The extra 3 minutes didn't make a difference. Tried to keep my shoulders back today which helped.
Good luck!!!
Mr Smooth will never let you down, he didn't me...
Good luck on your way. Give Mr Smooth a hug from me, when you're done!
Hoping by replying to myself everyone who replied to me will see. Thanks so much for the lovely encouragement! It really spurred me on. I didn't find it easy but it became easier and the extra 3 minutes weren't too bad. I knew I was enjoying myself when half way through Nik Kershaw (I'm a child of the 80s) started playing and I was dance running - is there such a thing or maybe I've invented it! π . I was very red by the time I finished but really pleased. I made it to just over 4km too so an extra bonus. Loved getting back and seeing all the supportive words. Celebrated this small victory with a Pimms at the local food festival.
Fab and what is wrong with dance running? My Walk Like an Egyptian, is legendary around these parts... and also Vienna such an anthem, it deserves singing out loud. Well in my head it's singingπ€πΌ
Mr Smooth as ever helped you as he did me. We smoothies do well especially with Pimms as a reward.πΉπΉπΉπΉ
Well done. You are a star....
Thanks π I'm going to add those to my play list to see how they work for me - will report back π€
Any return recommendations gratefully received.... my playlist is my running reward system. If I achieve a milestone I buy a tune....
I did enjoy the Nik Kershaw that came on in my last run. Also love Eminem 'Lose yourself' as in my former running days it came on at the end of a run I did and was most appropriate. Will ponder further and report back π.
Thanks Eminem and Nik it is then...πΌπ
Well done... You did it that's great π
Same thoughts exactly occurred to me. I did the run yesterday (difficult for various other reasons like the 10 day gap) and so can you. Good luck
