Plan was to graduate and aim for 1st park run in October but found I was needing to see how well I was doing compared to others as I'm a solo runner. So did my first one today at Horsham, nice and flattish, and BOOM!! 36mins including my 5 min warm up walk. Was meant to stop at 25 mins on the run but felt I had enough in the tank so ran through and finished and then did the warm down once in and scanned.
Not feeling too bad and recovered quite well so can definitely up the pace a bit more, running with others did lift me about 45 secs per min/mile anyways so that's encouraging.
Had a check of a tight calf and all is well afterwards, so it's on wards and upwards, and for my next goal I have entered the Brighton 10k. Madness I know but it's all about needing the winter motivation .

Keep it slow and steady and you will carry on running safely!
Calf twinges... watch out for them... any slight muscle tears need time to recover.. IannodaTruffe has posted about this on many occasions... pushing, even a tad too hard can cause problems..
Yeah that was my fear but my physio has confirmed no injury just usage and I will be seeing them regularly to make sure I stay safe. Seems a weird comment but used to keeping horses safe with endurance work so keeping my eye open to my own overstrething.
