Me? Completed w3r2 yesterday. Filling in recovery days with some walks. On Sunday last I walked 5k in 44 mins to a strict 130bpm.

Thanks! They recently resurfaced the lane where I run/walk, so it's a strict 20mph limit due to skid risk, so have to keep the speed down:)

I've always been a walker and always a fast one aswell. Thank God. Who knows where I'd be health wise if I hadn't walked such a lot. Extra walking for health reasons also got me into running.

Me too. I think I caught it from trotting alongside my Dad when I was a nipper.

The walking does make a massive difference doesn't it?

I love walking... good job too...just about to head out for a five miler with small runner in training, ( in her buggy) in a short while!!!

In 2015 I started to get into walking. I was doing four miles, five or six days a week. I then got sick (nothing to do with the exercise). I had to wait until October 2016 for an operation, and it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I heard of c25k, which was the kick I needed to get going again. I'm loving it and all you lovely people.

Have just run 5k and walked nearly 2k, 1k of the walk was uphill, I had a young couple come walking up behind and go past, funny that I always up my pace when there's someone in front, not to try and beat them, I think for the challenge to keep up, must be the motivation there as well..

Thanks for the link Late-starter. It mentions the Active10 app which was my stepping stone to C25k and continues to be useful on rest days. I am amazed how easy it is to avoid 30 brisk minutes a day! The app logs brisk minutes so long as your phone is with you and on. nhs.uk/oneyou/active10/home...

I know not everything is perfect with the Internet, but hasn't it been wonderful for bringing like-minded people together to do stuff?

Yes indeed. The loneliness of the long distance runner is now entirely a matter of choice x

Walking is brill I reckon. I do it all the time, not in an organised fashion necessarily, just in general. Off to walk the dog now 🐕 I borrow him for fitness purposes 🏃‍♀️👍✔️
