Like a bad penny, im back *again*! π For all my good intentions, I've not run for a couple of months now - life has seriously got in the way with minor issues like an impending house move, summer holidays etc. But I was away in Gothenburg with DD1 last week, and she'd said we should run while we were there so we'd both taken our kit with us. So yes, I decided the hotel gym was the perfect place to get back on the metaphorical horse, and go for it yet again. I managed two runs there (and persuaded DD to join me for one of them!), and have just come back from my second run since coming home!
I've picked up at week 3, since that felt like the right level, and turned out to be so. It's do-able, but I'm bright red and tired at the end, and have just done my second outdoors w3 run, so my fourth in total. I'll try doing a half-way house to week 4 next, and see how that goes before stepping all the way up.
The best thing about having gone so far back in the programme is that I have started taking FluffyDog with me - last time in her normal lead, this time on the hands-free one. We had a bit of stopping and starting today, but if she has a couple of minutes free to burn off a burst of energy at the start, she then seems to settle down pretty well. I'm hoping she gets used to it quickly and decides it's fun, as I miss having a furry running companion - it's three years now since OldDog died π’ Both Fluffy and I need to shed a few pounds and get fitter, so if this does work with her it'll be very good for the pair of us!
Anyway, that's enough rambling (for now!) - hopefully having made a good start I'll be able to keep it up through the next couple of weeks of moving house, returning to work, getting the girls back to school etc. There are a couple of fun 5ks that I'd like to do this autumn, so there's a bit of incentive anyway...! π
