My legs are jelly but although my strides were smaller than when I was walking they were in time with the beat. I am hoping that it is the timing that is important and not the length of the stride. When I say they were small they were absolutely tiddly. I may as well have been running on the spot. Just some crazy old bird running and jogging backwards and forwards down the length of one street. Dear God!!!! The neighbours must think I am absolutely barmy!! round the bend!!!! twisted!!!! nuts!!!! crazy nutter for running in the rain!!!! Well in any event I managed to keep to the beat of 1234 on the run and the 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 on the jog. I did find the slower beat somewhat easier. Whether or not I gain when I do a leisurely 30 minute jog only time will tell.

It mentioned a podcast for swimming so I think I am going to go and look that one up something to do when I am not out for a jog other than yoga.

Great post! Made me smile.

I too take tiny strides when running and until recently I could swear I walked much faster than I ran. But as I have become stronger I have definitely speeded up a little. Running to a beat helps. On Saturday at parkrun I was listening to Classic FM and one piece of music had a fab beat to run to (don't know what it was) and when I looked at my Strava stats, that was when I was running at the most consistent and speedy pace. So, tiny steps are fine. Any steps are fine as long as they are moving us forward. :)

Btw, which podcast were you listening to?
