I’ve done the 20 min run on week 6 I think? Struggled so bad but done it, am I the only one not really enjoying running?? Need to pick up my speed any tips? Thinking of going back to week 2 and start to go faster to see if that will work? Although done up to 20 mins jog I still failed a bleep test so need speed 🤔

Any tips? It’s my lungs that want to explode my legs are ok.

Well done on your 20 minutes 🎉🎉

I think the consensus is to not worry about speed at all. If breathing is hard, slow down. Speed comes after the nine weeks.

But I need to do another bleep test in 4-6 weeks 😬

More running is what is needed...just trying to go faster doesn't work...🤔

If your legs are okay but the breathing isn't...you need to build up your core strength and stamina.

Have you upped that exercise as the runs have got longer?

Slow and steady runs are the way to build everything up towards speed and distance..your struggling is your body telling you it is not ready for speed yet.

So..carry on..relax....you are maybe feeling the pressure too much. ..up your rest day exercise and see how it feels.😊

I jog 3 times a week but I also do 2 boxfit and maybe a walk and a bike ride... you think with all that I would be awesome now 🤔

Find it hard to forget how long I have left too trying a Audio book now rather than music

I'm afraid the core strength and stamina needs more work than you are giving it...a really long brisk walk every day maybe..cycling or swimming..a vigorous.core strength exercise regime too..many of us do these exercises every day...even on the IC, keeping up strength and stamina pays dividends.

C25K is about building stamina and strength which you need for speed.

Pushing for speed at this stage is highly likely to cause injury, which might stop you in your tracks for days, weeks or months.

Slow and steady progress is the only way. There are no safe shortcuts.

Take care.
