Wk6r3 - Easy & enjoyable....!!!

The weather forecast for this morning was dry & cloudy- so I set off at 7am in the pouring rain - that really fine stuff that gets you soaked in minutes. Jo tells me that the runs are now a bit more serious and today is 25 minutes. It'll be easy & enjoyable.......a wry laugh escaped me but no sarcastic comments today - Jo is only doing her job. The Jack Russell man on his way back from the allotment with runner beans (excuse the pun) says he thought I should have the morning off as it's raining. No sign of mr labradoodle(I did see him yesterday when I was out walking & it was nice to stop to give him a pat - he is so cute (the labradoodle that is...) & I always feel so mean running past as he looks at me with those chocolate eyes under his curly fringe tail waving...). Sorry where was I? Ah yes I remember....And so Jo tells me my 5 minute warm up is done and off we go. My Achilles tendon reminds me 2 minutes in that I forgot to put on my ankle support in my eagerness to get out(!!) but I soldier on regardless, following the advice of Brendan Foster(start slow & get slower). The fallen tree has been moved again and I hurdled it this morning (think hurdles at just over ankle height here). Up hill, downhill, village, farm track, bridleway & I'm still going. Just wondering how much further when Jo pipes up to tell me that I might want to pick up the pace now as I've only 60 seconds left. At this stage I can hardly pick up my feet let alone anything else. But I did it - celebrations all round - then trudged home down the field & up the hill on the other side still in the pouring rain!! Forecast still said it was dry when I checked back!! Week 7 on its way......

Chunkymonkey, you are hurdling? Blimey that's upping the game oh and without your ankle support oh and finally it was peeing down... What could Week 7 possibly throw at you that you couldn't cope with?

Haha 🐵. Hurdling might have been a slight exaggeration! Cross country at its best today.....Not been brave enough to look at what's next - one run at a time.....🏃🏻‍♀️🤔🐒

Well done for running in the rain and on an obstacle course. I found week 6 tough, so good on you. :)

Well done. I have yet to run in the rain! Don't know how I've managed but always seem to avoid it!
