Week 2 - Completed - Healthier Choices... πŸΊβ˜•οΈ

So I have just finished Week 2.. I must say that today's mid-afternoon run didn't feel as good as my previous 2 runs in a morning this week, so maybe I have found mornings are the time for me.

However saying that I still enjoyed it. πŸ˜πŸƒ

Since starting this magic journey I have changed some of my lifestyle choices... not major ones but ones I think may be helping me along.

I am a man who enjoys an ale or three 😏... I think that was where the problem lay, over the years it has gone from a drink over the weekend to me having 2 pints of ale Monday-Thursday then 3/4 pints on a Friday Saturday and Sunday!!! Not good in anyone's book I know. From the beginning of Week 1 to now though I have cut out the ale! A question arises again! Do I cut out my ale altogether or do I allow myself a pint when I really really fancy it?? At the moment I don't even feel like wanting one!

I have also swapped a cuppa for water!! During the day I could easily have 6/7 cups of tea.. now I have one first thing in the morning then I have a pint of water next to me throughout the day which gets refilled numerous times! Only two weeks in but feel running has opened up this new chapter on my life choices without me even having to think about it.

Hope you are all well, happy running ❀️

Hi HS I'm not an ale person, but funnily enough my wino tendencies seem to have waned of their own accord. I still drink it, but seem to be saying no a lot more than before. I have read other folk give up booze also for the whole programme. Maybe the body is subtly sending messages....

Sounds like some big changes in your running life, well done and keep going and posting

Water... best thing ever... Adam's Ale my Nan used to call it... she drank loads and lived until she was 98!

It will, of course be your choice...why not have it as a treat ? I think many of us notice these differences creeping into our lives...I still love my bubbly treat as and when...:)

Well done you anyway and onward and upward!

Thanks for the replies, I am leaning towards the 'as a treat' for the ale. Another bonus on top of my health will be hopefully save some money for some running apparel 😁❀️
