Rebecca what a great link. Start small how many times does IannodaTruffe say to be sensible, by not overrunning etc? Master the run/walk well you really are one of the masters of this in your prep and you confirm it works in your posts. Take it slow Oldfloss owns that tip I think. Cross -train well Rignold has that covered with his church of squats theories.

And finally beat the first mile blues by guess what joining a group of friends who are supportive. I guess that has the rest of us in C25K covered.

A crystal clear, lovely article, well done you for finding it

I love the Running Bug - lots of good articles on there. I'm a little happy with myself Hidden - doesn't merit a full post but as part of my triathlon prep I did a full on spinning class last night and then went straight to the treadmill and ran a mile. There are three different spinning classes that I flit between - Tuesday night which is proper hardcore, full on madness, Wednesday night which focuses much more on endurance and hill climbs and Saturday which is a combination of both. The Tuesday night class is by far the most difficult. I knew I was going to try to run straight afterwards because the transitions between one discipline and another are what I need to practice - and after that spinning class I'm proud of myself for managing to run a mile and slightly faster than normal!

Blimey oh Riley, you're doing mini triathlons already. Transitions are the hardest I'm told by my mate Pete who has just done his half iron man. So you're being very thorough with your prep on this too. Well done you, and now after my cool down drink, I am going to look at the running bug.... ciao

Thanks Rebecca - good link. Sent it to my friend who is trying to bust through her 'I can only run for 15 mins' block.

I'm having that same block at the moment. People think that after you graduate running suddenly becomes easier - in my experience, it definitely doesn't!

Right - makes sense that learning would trough a bit. Am going to try the Peacehaven Parkrun course at lunchtime with cafe lunch as the carrot! Am definitely missing the C25k gentle progression with its lots of little success carrots. 🥕that one is for you!!!

Not going to be able to do a parkrun for a couple of weeks but I may try Peacehaven. What time did you do it in?

44:46 - felt comfortable at that, which is my aim. I could have run a wee bit further, too, if I'd wanted to. The general buzz and the marshalls kept my spirits up so not sure how I'll do on my own. I don't want to put myself off by remembering my last run as a sweaty panting struggle. Was lonely though! Not much companionship at that speed...😏
