All very impressive, but did you know that when you run you create micro tears in your muscles which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while you are running.

Rest days are crucial for a new runner. Please take them. The injury couch means no running, maybe for weeks.

Well done. Your doing great, and I agree with the advice above. Take your rest days. If your a little restless go for a good walk and give the running a break for a day.

You really need as IannodaTruffe says to rest in between runs.. Otherwise, it really is the way to disaster. Your legs are taking a massive impact and you can do real damage.

Your rest days are essential for other strength and stamina building exercises and there is so much to choose from. Core strength exercises, cycling, swimming, walking, yoga.. the list goes on!

So, maybe, slow it down, take those days for resting and you should reach the thirty minute runs injury free!

So basically you're telling us that you're not a 'couch potato' as you can already run and you're not following the couch to 5k programme in any way?? 😂😂

No I was a couch potato full on and just found the programme helpful and I'm following just at a quicker pace than most because I'm surprising myself with how well I'm doing

So you are a new runner, in which case it is only sensible to follow the advice on a training plan designed for new runners. Like you, I wanted to run every day, but after checking here, it was clear how imperative rest days are. You might get away with it, but I would not wish injury on anybody. It is so frustrating not being able to run and in some cases can cause permanent damage. This link shows where overenthusiasm can take you healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

Too much too soon is often the opinion of physios dealing with the results.

Do other non impact exercise on your rest days, please.

These guys really know what they are talking about. As you are having such fun, why don't you start another activity on rest days ? Swimming or cycling maybe? You clearly have loads of energy and enthusiasm 😊

I do yoga and pilates on my "days off"

some positions still strenuous but still beneficial.

I'm going to look for some good YouTube yoga videos I can follow from home

Blue-Jay posted a yoga for runners video earlier. Only 7 minutes long but a starter for you.
