Wk8 r1. Now that was so hard. Right from the beginning I was fighting the gremlins, 5 minutes in I was contemplating giving up, so hot, even at 9pm. After about 7 minutes I checked my fit bit to see how long I had been running and I realised I hadn't turned it on this was almost enough of a reason to justify giving up.
After a little sole searching I realised I was being stupid this wasn't about gps or running a pb who cares if my time peak heart rate was higher than on week 7. What mattered was I was on my run it may have been hotter than hell but the sky was beautiful, my legs may have been heavy but they were so much stronger than in week 1 and my head was stronger now than it had ever been.
By 20 minutes I was fairly spent but I knew I had another 5 minutes in me I'd already proved this to myself 4 times. When I reached the point of my run I had never run where I would normally start my cool down I really felt exhausted but at the same time invigorated at breaking new territory and this kept me going into the unknown.
I must say when 28 minutes was up I was very relieved and not sure I had anything left. I know I had pushed myself even the cool down was a little wobbly but also very euphoric as I enjoyed my moment of victory.
These runs may not be getting easier but they are still very rewarding and no stat is going to tell me that.
