W5R3 - I only went and did it!!!

After a really stressful day at work today and arriving home for it to start raining I almost postponed this run but instead I got my running gear on, started up my podcast and away I went!

When Laura said it was time to start running I actually had a little sob to myself as the thought of running for 20 whole minutes really scared me so much. 5 minutes in and I was going strong, 10 minutes in and I started heading up hill (normally I walk the hill as I plan my routes to hit that point during a walk), slow down, short steps keep going! Get to the top and think 'holy f***', down the other side and I feel amazing. At the 15 minute point I think to myself 'everyone was right, this plan has prepared me for today', I kept it slow and steady, breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth... 2 mins to go and I start crying again with the joy and amazement that I am actually going to do this. 5 minute walk and I get back home feeling prouder of myself than I have ever done before.

I have now stretched out and rehydrated and I am still smiling so BIG.

Looking forward to the walking intervals that week 6 will bring back as I now feel as though I am emotionally drained and need to go back to doing sessions that don't terrify me!

That is just so fantastic! Well done! It’s just a great achievement completing this run! X keep going into week 6. I’ve just finished week 6 run 2 .

Congratulations, you deserve to smile big, well done on completing week 5 run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃

Well done, you have done fantastic and you should quite rightly by proud of yourself. It’s such a great feeling when you finish knowing what you have just completed. It seems daunting, but before you know it your on your way ! Yayyy 👍👍👍

Great run and wonderful post. That run made me cry too... longest I’d ever run for in my life. That run proves, more than any other, that you can do this plan... keep smiling and enjoy week 6... slow and steady in the intervals and then you got this.

I don't cry often so this totally shocked me how emotional I got but now all i feel is total elation :)

Nothing wrong with some emotion after an epic milestone of a run... or in this case a couple of minutes out when you realised you had it.

Oh just seen I'm not the only one to get this done today, well done, it's a great feeling isn't it?! I was just the same, really nervous about this one, shows how much of this is in the mind and not the legs that we can get it done :)

MASSIVE HUGE CONGRATULATIONS

So glad to hear you set out despite everything telling you not to, and awesome to hear you not only ran the full 20mins (I knew you would) but that it made you so happy.

Hills are a pain. I did W6R2 last night and chose a route forgetting my last 8 minute's would be up a big long steep hill. I've never sweated so much in my life but as you said, little steps, deep breaths and just keep going.

Well done again. Enjoy the high, enjoy the rest and always remember this feeling whenever it gets hard or you don't want to do it. It'll motivate you to press on.

🙌🙌

Thank you :)

I am still buzzing this morning even though my thighs are feeling a little sore.

If I do the route I did last night in reverse the hill isn’t as steep but it goes on FOREVER as a gradual climb. I did this way round a few weeks ago with my interval run/walk and found it really tough going however I am going to do it again for my W6R1 as I like a challenge lol

Good luck with your runs this week :)
