So I did it. Wasn't expecting the two 8 minute runs had to cancel and restart the podcast just to make sure I was on the correct week😜 My legs felt like a tonne halfway the second run but I pushed through it. Not sure about Friday 20 minutes seem so daunting 😱😱

I'm the same as you- w5r2 done today and legs were leaden half way through the second run- 20 mins is going to be tough! Good luck when you run yours!

Just take it slow and steady and you will be fine with the 20 minutes.

I did this one last night too. You managed it, well done! Each time extension seems daunting, but I don't know about you - I get there in the end and amaze myself every time. The thing I struggled with most was the heat - I prefer going out in the early morning. the warm evenings have been a killer when I've had to go out later.

We can do run 3 - 20 minutes? No problem!!!!

Focus on how far you have come... Now, not, next... the programme will take you through... just keep it, as ever, slow and steady :)

Well done. Trust in the plan and have complete faith in it and in your ability to do it. You've come so far already.

The 3rd run in week 5 remains one of my favourite runs ever along with my first 10k, my first and 3rd half marathon and my first 17 mile run and also my marathon age 50. Yes, you can definitely do it :D You are adopting healthy habits. You are getting stronger, fitter, healthier as you progress.

Excellent work. Keep it up.

You've done the physical preparation, for these longer runs you need to train your mind that you can do this. People that have stopped, have done so, not through physical exhaustion, but because they let the doubts (those lousy Gremlins) creep in.

Adopt an nice pace and just go for it. Ignore the doubts and definitely don't focus on the time. Enjoy the scenery, think about what your going to have for dinner, or my favourite - think about writing your post-run post.

Well done on the run. I completed that run on Tuesday and was the same on the second 8 min segment and was dreading r3 but have just completed it half hour ago. I never thought I could do it but did. Honestly trust the programme as others have said on here you can do this. It was hard but music and focusing and slowing down really did work. Well done it's such a buzz isn't it??

Hi guys thanks for all the posts of encouragement it's good to see I'm not alone πŸ˜€. I must admit I never thought I'd be doing anything like this having given up 26 years of smoking only 2 months ago I have since done a 5k mud run (walked a lot 😜) as well as a 5k inflatable one. Running is fun πŸ‘πŸ‘already signed up for next years 10k surely I'll be ready by then !!!
