Going to start this very soon. Tried running instead of my normal walk home. It is up a hill and I found that I could only run for 20 seconds max before my legs got really tired. I am find running downhill but uphill is a real struggle. Will this course make me better at this and will my legs cope with running for longer?
Thanks

Yes yes to your questions! This course is designed to build up your stamina in manageable steps.
As someone with zero to no fitness level, i started this course barely being able to manage the 60s intervals i had to run for, then the next week i was barely able to manage the 90s intervals i had to run for, and then today i barely managed the 3 minute intervals i had to run for (you get the idea).
I don't have any proper hills on my routes, just gentle inclines which I'd never even noticed before I started running up them when they morphed into mountains! But yes it does get easier. Having said that I think the general advice would be to start with flatter terrain if possible to give yourself a gentler start.
Download the C25K programme and take one week at a time You will find it so much easier Slow and steady is the mantra.. and the odd hill when you are into it may be useful
And yes.. the stamina and strength build up, slowly and safely. Every run makes you stronger, mentally and physically !
