Had a few days off, didn't lose the will to go out and continue in the rain, didn't seem to lose much pace or rhythm.
I have to add that am not following the NHSCouch25K strictly to the letter and don't advise anyone else to do what I'm doing.
Anyway, W5D1 was relatively 'easy' by that I mean I wasn't drenched in sweat, legs feel like they are holding me back though so I am running really slowly.
So for today the time was 41 minutes for 5km (Ran 29minutes Walked 12minutes)
W5D1 seemed to not cover enough distance for me- having completed it I had run approximately 2.4 km (Don't have a tracker etc) so I just continued 5 minute runs with 3 minute breaks till I got to 5km, the last run was 8 minutes continuous running, so I think that is more or less the same as W6D1.
The final run of week 5 looks hard but it's a great challenge, and I think it's a mental challenge rather than a physical one. But when you are half way into a course you have to be pushed at some point.
Initially , although I haven't finished week 5 yet, I thought that week 5 was just rushed, but I like the way it progresses, and then with week 6 day 1 you get to build on what you have done in week 5 and then by week 6 you should feel a confident runner no matter what your time is, so that leaves 3 weeks of consolidation . A very good plan considering most of us wouldn't have dreamt of doing things other than watching TV sitting around etc.
